MED01-P1 — Secondary audit (cross-audit) — ChatGPT — RAW + verifier disposition

Filed: 2026-09-26 (Danny’s paste). Verbatim below the line; ChatGPT’s inline :chatgpt-content-reference{index="N"} markers are its citation placeholders and are preserved. Auditor assignment (§M10a): Gemini-origin claims (C006, C024-Canada, C028, C029, C033, C037); verifier-found claims (C001, C015, C017, C020, C024); HOLD components; ≥10 shared-origin claims. Auditor’s verdict: CONDITIONAL PASS — 0 critical, 1 major (procedural, C001), 3 minor (C019, C006-Gill, C028 lead sentence).

Note on receipt: Danny’s second paste, labelled “from Gemini”, was an exact duplicate of this document. Gemini’s audit is therefore not yet filed; §M10a is not complete until it is.

Verifier disposition (Claude, 2026-09-26)

Finding Auditor severity Verifier check Disposition
C001 counts not independently reproducible by auditor major (procedural) Verifier re-ran both frozen strings 2026-09-26: 10,630 and 8,663, identical to 2026-09-23. Reproducible, but verifier reruns do not satisfy the both-model rule. ACCEPT. Escalated per §M10a to an origin-independent human rerun: Danny executes the two ESearch URLs (below). C001 stays “cross-audit open” until then; P1 does not LOCK before.
C001 qualification “MeSH Cannabinoids dates from 1971” part of major ChatGPT cites NLM “Year introduced: 1977.” Verifier’s NLM API calls did not return the field; the ledger wording is changed to remove the year pending the record check. ACCEPT provisionally; verifier to confirm 1977 from the MeSH record.
C019 “per-patient breakdown not in abstract” minor Verifier error confirmed. Re-fetched PMID 7413719: abstract contains 4/8, 3/8, 1, 7/1. The 2026-09-23 read was truncated at ~900 characters. ACCEPT. Correction #2: ledger, technical synthesis, and both plain-English documents updated with the figures; disposition unchanged (AWQ, N = 15). Lesson logged: truncated-abstract reads must be flagged, not recorded as “not reported.”
C006 Gill 1970 — S-250 does not expose the propyl-homologue statement minor Consistent with verifier’s own record (identity only, no abstract). ACCEPT — no change needed; already Inconclusive. Gill 1971 pointer noted for P2/full-text.
C028 ledger lead sentence “from the late 1970s” more declarative than Inconclusive minor Agreed. ACCEPT — lead sentence to be split at next ledger correction: existence + March-1992 closure (convergence: IOM per two readers; verifier pending) vs. start/counts (Inconclusive).
C024 Canada — Health Canada DPD “Original market date 1982-12-31” none Not opened by verifier. Record as convergence (market date ≠ approval date); Canada component stays Inconclusive.
C025 / C036 / C037 / C029 — auditor opened Congressional Record 1970/1974, IOM 1999 ch. 4–5, NARA, Canada.ca, NIH 1999, FR 1992 none Not yet reproduced by verifier (Bookshelf still blocked; govinfo PDFs not yet opened). Log as cross-auditor convergence pending verifier reproduction — not silent upgrades. HOLDs stay.
Whole-synthesis checks (vote counting, harms parity, search disclosure, cutoff, ordering, plain-English advice) PASS — Noted.

Auditor’s own citations: every source it quotes for the shared-origin traces (C007, C009, C012–C018, C021, C030, C033, C038) matches the abstracts the verifier read on 2026-09-23. Its C019 quote is correct and the verifier’s record was wrong. The content-reference placeholders carry no resolvable identifiers; the audit is accepted on the basis that the quoted text matches sources already in the verified corpus.

Origin-independent rerun for Danny (C001): open each link; the page shows <Count>N</Count> near the top. Report the two numbers.

(Raw audit text follows, verbatim — see Danny’s paste of 2026-09-26; identical content was pasted a second time under the label “from Gemini” and is not filed as Gemini’s.)

I completed this as a fresh §M10a cross-audit of Claude’s signed chain, not as another editorial review. The overall result is strong: I found no critical substantive failure and no evidence that a Gemini-origin HOLD leaked downstream as an accepted medical conclusion. I did find one major procedural lock issue at C001, plus a few minor verifier/source-access corrections—most notably C019, where the PubMed abstract actually contains data Claude said required full text.

MED01-P1 §M10a Cross-Audit — ChatGPT

Role: Cross-auditor of the verifier/editor chain Round: MED01-P1, 1960–1999 Audit date: 2026-09-26 Chain audited: signed technical ledger v1.0 + correction #1; signed technical synthesis v1.0; signed plain-English ledger and synthesis; S-241–S-307; verification log and critique; both raw research passes for provenance.

Scope rule: This audit tests Claude’s signed chain. It does not reuse my earlier editorial approval as evidence.

Overall result

Conditional PASS — one procedural lock blocker remains.

  • 0 critical findings
  • 1 major procedural finding: C001 cannot be independently reproduced by this auditor, as required for a verifier-found claim under §M10a. The numerical counts are not contradicted, but this auditor cannot sign them independently. The C001 qualification also contains one factual error: the NLM MeSH heading Cannabinoids was introduced in 1977, not 1971.
  • Several minor findings: C019 falsely says the patient-by-patient CBD epilepsy results are absent from the PubMed abstract; they are explicitly present. C006’s Gill-1970 component has weaker direct source support than the ledger wording implies, although the disposition already protects against a priority overclaim. C028’s lead ledger sentence is more declarative than its Inconclusive disposition, but that overconfidence does not leak into either signed synthesis.
  • The HOLD architecture worked as intended. C025 and C036 can now be substantially or fully supported from sources I could open, while C028/C029/C037 remain appropriately bounded.

[Trace table of 28 rows, whole-synthesis checks (all PASS), HOLD report for C025/C028/C029/C036/C037, and “most serious problem” section — filed in full in the Drive mirror of this document; the round-local git copy preserves the summary above and the verifier disposition. Cross-auditor disposition (verbatim)

MED01-P1 signed chain: CONDITIONAL PASS.

Required before my side of §M10a can be considered clean:

  1. Correct C001’s MeSH year 1971 → 1977.
  2. Independently reproduce C001’s two frozen ESearch counts, or leave C001 explicitly unresolved for lock.
  3. Correct C019’s access note: its per-patient seizure-response breakdown is in the PubMed abstract.
  4. Log this audit’s source resolutions for C025/C028/C036/C037 as cross-auditor convergence pending Claude reproduction, not as silent verifier upgrades.

Everything else I audited holds at its signed level of confidence.
